Ingredients:
Ingredients for pesarattu: 1 cup - green moong daal, 1 tbsp rice , 1 green chilli, 1/2 inch ginger, Salt . For toppings: 1 finely chopped onion , 1 finely chopped green chilli , Few chopped coriander leaves.
Procedure:
Pesarattu : Pesarattu is a popular breakfast recipe from Andhapradesh. They are very easy to make. We can just soak the lentils and then grind them. No need of fermanting the batter. We can use the batter straight away after grinding. How to make pesarattu: 1. Rinse and soak one cup of moong daal with a hand full of rice for 4 - 6 hours and drain the water. 2. Grind it into a smooth paste along with green chilli, ginger, salt and water. The batter is ready. 3. With a big spoon, pour the dosa batter on a tava and spread into a round shape. 4. Sprinkle some finely chopped onions, green chillies and coriander leaves. 5. Drizzle some oil or ghee at the side and in the centre. 6. Flip the dosa a couple of times until both the sides are well cooked. Pesarattu dosa is ready. It can be accompanied with allam pachadi. To make Allam pachadi: 1. Take 1 inch ginger - remove the skin 2. In a tava - add 1 spoon of oil and fry chopped ginger and 5 red chillies. 3. After cooling grind the above along with lemon sized soaked tamarind and 1 tbsp of jaggery. 4. Temper with mustard and curry leaves. Allam pachadi ready.
