Recipe Name: Plain and Spicy Coconut Adai

Ingredients:
Ingredients Plain coconut adai: -2cups idli rice -1cup grated coconut -salt and water as required -2 tbsp soaked channa dal Ingredients Spicy coconut adai: -2cups idli rice -1cup grated coconut -4red chillies -lemon sized tamarind -2tsp jaggery -few curry leaves -1tsp asafetida -salt and water as required -soaked channa dal
Procedure:
Plain coconut adai: -Soak the idli rice in hot water for 2 hours -Add the rice, coconut and salt to grinder and grind it to a cores batter with less water -Add the soaked channa dal to the batter. Now, plain coconut adai batter is ready Spicy coconut adai: -Soak the idli rice in hot water for 2 hours -Add the rice, coconut, red chillies, tamarind, jaggery, curry leaves, asafetida and salt to grinder and grind it to a cores batter with less water -Add the soaked channa dal to the batter. -In a hot pan, add oil, once it is heated up add mustered and urad dal . And pour this into the batter. Now, spicy coconut adai batter is ready. Spread the batter in a hot tawa, flip it over once gets roasted. Mango thoku is a perfect side dish for both plain and spicy coconut adai.
