Ingredients:
1.aval 1/4 kg 2.big onion 1(chopped) 3.green chilli 3no.(splitted) 4.curry leaves. 5.tamarind 1(big amlasize) and rocksalt 11/2 tsp for puli juice 6.turmeric powder 1/2 tsp 7.coconut shredded 5tsp To temper 1.oil 4 tsp 2.mustard 1/4 tsp 3.urad dal 1/2 tsp 4.chanadal 1/2 tsp
Procedure:
Step1
Make tamarind juice from soaked tamarind
Step2
Soak aval in the tamarind juice for one hour
Step3
Take a kadai add oil and temper with above said ingredients and saute onion,greenchilli and curry leaves.
Now add soaked aval and then add turmeric powder,idli milagai podi and shredded coconut.
Simmer the stove and cover with a lid .let it cook for ten minutes.
Our upma is ready to b served with coriander leaves garnished.
Tips
We can also make upma in all kinds of aval specially millet aval which will add more nutrients to us.easily digestable,and good energy.
