Ingredients:
Note: This is a traditional n healthy grandma recipe, more than 50 years old. cups leftover rice 1 cup arisi noi 2 chopped onions 1 chopped carrot 6nos chopped beans 1 tbsp chopped cabbage 2 chopped green chilies 1 inch chopped ginger 1 inch chopped maainji 1/4 tsp asafoetida Coriander leaves Curry leaves Salt to taste Oil/ghee mix
Procedure:
1.Pour water in the leftover rice, soak and leave it overnight. By day, squeeze excess water and take in a bowl.
2. Mix all ingredients except oil/ghee with the rice.
3. Keep it aside for half an hour.
4. Heat tawa, smear little oil, take a scoop of the rice mixture, pat like a vada and place it on the tawa and add some oil/ghee all around the patties.
5. Cover and cook till the bottom becomes golden brown n crisps up.
6. Remove lid, turn over the patties and cook the other side till golden n crisp, without covering.
7. Serve hot on a bed of banana flower leaves along with puli Inji pickle, mango pickle, onion chutney and milagai podi (gun powder).
