Ingredients:
par boiled rice - 2cups toor dal - 1/2 cup tempering ingredients: oil,mustard seeds,gram dal, bengal gram dal,asafodita,curry leaves, green chillies ,red chillies,cashew, grated coconut ,salt to taste.
Procedure:
first soak rice in hot water for about for 5hrs, then grind it to fine paste in grinder , batter should be in idli batter form.now make ldlys with batter and when its hot put those idly in the sarasthalu making machine and twist it we can get the plain sarasthalu .next step is keep a kadai add 3 tbsp of oil ,then all the tempering ingredients one by one .now add the cooked toor dal and check the seasoning and salt .now add the plain sarathau to the kadai .make sure it is fully cool when u add .now mix it gently .now our pappu sarasthalu is ready . same procedure for pulluvu sarasthlu ,instead of adding toor dal add puliodharai mix. for making sweet sarathalu ,preparw poppy seeds payasam and serve plain sarasthalu.
