Ingredients:
For batter:1 cup wheat flour,1/2 cup Jaggery,1/4 cup water. For poornam: 3 cups grated coconut,1 cup roasted Bengal gram,1/2 cup Jaggery.(Elachi if needed).
Procedure:
To prepare batter : Heat the water and put Jaggery into it and stir it until it dissolves. Allow it to cool and mix this liquid to the wheat flour.Make sure that the batter has no lumps.Batter consistency should be like that of Idly batter.
For poornam, grind all the above mentioned ingredients coarsely and make it into balls.
Lit the stove, place the kadai and allow it to heat and pour oil .After it heats dip the poornam balls into the batter and fry it in the slow flame till it becomes golden brown.
Note :Add one pinch of cooking soda to the batter before frying
