Ingredients:
250 gm Red Solam (Lowers Blood Sugar & Cholesterol Level),75 gm Black Urad Dhal (Improves Bone Health & Strengthens Nervous System),Salt as per taste,Oil as needed for frying,½ tbsp asafoetida,½ tbsp mustard seeds,2 tbsp Bengal Gram,5 Curry leaves chopped,1 big onion finely chopped
Procedure:
Before the day of preparation, Wash and Soak Red Solam and Black Urad Dhal seperetely for minimum 5 hours. Remove the skin of black Urad dhal and Grind it seperately and prepare like Idli Batter by adding Crystal Salt. Set it aside for fermentation for atleast 6 to 8 hrs. At morning, Heat a pan and add oil, asafoetida, mustard seeds, Bengal Gram, Curry leaves and chopped onions. Saute onions until raw smell disappears. Cool this and add to the batter. Take Guntapongalam pan and add oil in all molds. Pour batter upto 3/4 in each mold. Close the lid and cook for 2 to 3 mins in low flame. Open the lid and flip the guntapongalam in other side. Let it cook for 3 more mins and take away. Softy & Healthy Guntapongalam is ready !!! Taste with Coconut/spicy chutney !!!
