Recipe Name: Karam, Sweet Pesala Pittu

Ingredients:
Ingredient for spicy pittu: Moong dal 2 cups(pesalu pappu) Chana dal 1/2 cup(senaga pappu) Urad dal 1 tbsp(utdhu pappu) Salt For tempering-mustard seeds,chana dal, urad dal,Green chillies 4 no.s Varukaai 2 no.s(moor milagai) Coconut grated 1/2 cup Curry / coriander leaves as required Lemon juice 1 tsp Sweet pittu: same ingredients for grinding as spicy pittu except salt,ghee ,10 cashews, 2 elachi,10 dry grapes and sugar.
Procedure:
Soak all the above lentils together for 1.5 hrs. Grind in mixie transfer to a bowl.add salt. Mix water as like the idly batter consistency. Make idlies and then podi the idly. Take a pan, pour oil-saute mustard seeds,chana,urad dal,varukaai,green chillies,curry leaves, then add the podi idly and saute for 5 mins, finally add coriander leaves,coconut and lemon juice. Spicy pittu is ready. This can be served with any salads or pickles. Sweet pittu: same ingredients for grinding as spicy pittu except salt. Make it as idly and podi the idlies. In pan pour ghee add 10 cashews, 2 elachi,10 dry grapes and then add podi idly ,sugar for sweetness and finally coconut grated. Now yummy sweet pittu is ready. Serve hot.
