
Recipe Name: Karuppu ulunthu Adai (Udhullu Adai) With Tomato Garlic Chutney.

Ingredients:
Karuppu Ulunthu Adai Batter Ingredients: Idli Rice(Pulungal arisi)-2 cups,Raw Rice(Pacharisi)- 1 cup,Thuvaram paruppu(Split Red Gram)- 1/2 cup, Karuppu ulunthu(Black Gram)-1 cup,Red chillies- 5 or 6 nos,Curry leaves -few,Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon,Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup,Pepper- 1 teaspoon,Salt as required. Water for grinding. Thakkali Poondu Chutney Ingredients: Tomatoes-3 medium size,Garlic -10 nos medium size, Salt as required,Asafoetida- little,Chilli powder-as required. For tempering -Gingelly oil,mustard seeds.
Procedure:
Udhullu Adai Batter procedure:
Soak Idli Rice,Raw Rice,Thuvaram paruppu for 3-4 hrs. Take a Mixer jar, Add soaked ingredients,then just wash and add Black gram/karuppu ulundhu(Note-No need to soak it),Red chillies,curry leaves,cumin seeds,grated coconut,pepper,salt and little water. Grind all into Adai batter consistency. Let it fermentate for 4 hrs. Then ,place the dosa pan on stove and heat it. Then put the Adai dosa on pan and flip it on both sides. Add little coconut oil while roasting Adai on pan. Now hot Adai is ready.
Chutney procedure:
Take a mixer jar. Add tomatoes, garlic, Asafoetida, Salt, Chilli powder. Grind all into a fine paste without adding Water. Transfer it into a bowl. Now ,heat little Gingelly oil in a small kadai and add mustard seeds. Once it splits,add this into the bowl of grinded paste. Now the Tomato Garlic chutney is ready.
Now serve the hot Karuppu ulunthu Adai with tomato garlic chutney along with little butter. It's very healthier traditional receipe.
