Recipe Name: Pappu Sweet and Kaaram Pittu

Ingredients:
Pappu Sweet Pittu: Moong dal 1 cup, Channa dal 1 cup, Jaggery 6 tablespoon, Cashew 6numbers, cardamom 3, Ghee 2 tablespoon, Grated coconut Pappu Kaaram Pittu: Moong dal 1 cup, Channa dal 1 cup, Oil 2 tablespoon, Lemon 1, Green chilly 3, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves, Mustard, Channa dal for tempering
Procedure:
1. Wash and soak paasi Pappu (moong dal) and kadalai Pappu (channa dal) equal portions for 1 hour. 2. Drain the water completely and grind in a mixer with salt and 1 or 2 tsp of water to a coarse paste. 3. Grease the idly plates with ghee or oil and fill the molds with the coarsely ground dal paste and cook it for 10 minutes in an Idly steam cooker. Transfer the boiled cakes to a plate. 4. Crumble the steamed cakes with your fingers while it is still warm and keep aside. Steps for making Pappu Sweet pittu. Take grated jaggery along with 4tbsp water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil, filter the clean syrup using the strainer. Keep it aside. Heat another pan with ghee, add cashew nuts, and roast until it becomes golden brown. Add grated coconut and stir over low flame till the aroma arises. Add the jaggery syrup, bring it to a boil and reduce the flame completely. Add crumbled Pappu (take first half portion since we need second half for kaaram Pittu) and mix well. Cook for 1 more minute until the pittu absorbs the jaggery syrup completely. Switch off the stove. Pappu SWEET pittu is ready to eat. 😋 Steps for making Pappu Kaaram Pittu: Heat a pan with oil, add Mustard and Channa dal and wait for Mustard to splutter. Add Chilli, Curry leave and fry it for 2 minutes, add lemon extract and cook for 1 min. Add crumbled Pappu, mix well and cook for 1 minute and add coriander. Switch off the stove. Pappu Kaaram Pittu is ready to eat. 😋 This is a traditional Vyasa recipe. This recipe is rich in protein and well balanced healthy food for breakfast.
