Recipe Name: Pulusu Pindi ( Tamarind uppuma )

Ingredients:
Raw rice -1 cup, Par boiled rice - 1 cup , Coconut - half small , jaggery - little , Red Chillies - 10 to 12 Asafoetida - (as desired) , Tamarind - (medium lemon sized) , Salt to teaspoons (heaped) , Oil - quarter cup . FOR TAMPERING - Mustard seeds - quarter teaspoon , Black gram dal - one teaspoon , Bengal gram dal 2 teaspoons ,Curry leaves- few , Broken Red Chillies- few .
Procedure:
Soak both rice varieties together in water for 2-3 hours. ๐Ÿ™‚Grind it along with Red Chillies , Grated coconut , Salt , Asafoetida , till fine rawa consistency. ๐Ÿ™‚Soak tamarind in water and take a thick extract . ๐Ÿ™‚ Mix with ground paste . ๐Ÿ™‚ Heat oil in a heavy bottom deep curved pan , add seasonings and pour ground paste . ๐Ÿ™‚Stir constantly till raw flavour is lost and oil separates from uppuma. (approximately 30 to 45 minutes) . ๐Ÿ™‚ Serve with diced onions (raw) . This is one of the favourite tiffin for all age groups and all seasons .
