Recipe Name: Pongal Cutlet

Ingredients:
Raw Rice - 1 Cup, Moong Dal - 1/2 Cup, Water - 5 Cups, 1 Onion - Chopped, Broken Pepper, Cumin Seeds (Jeeragam), Ginger, Curry Leaves, Rice Flour, Red Chilly Powder, Salt, Oil, Ghee, Asafoetida (Perungayam).
Procedure:
Take one cup of Rice, 1/2 cup of moong dal and mix it together. After mixing, wash it with water. Add 5 cups of water to the mixed quantity and place it in the cooker. The next step is to add required amount of salt and 2 table spoons of oil. Now, close the cooker's lid and wait for 4 whistles. Meanwhile in a hot pan, add some amount of ghee, 1/2 tea spoons of cumin seeds, 1/2 tea spoons of grated ginger, broken pepper, 1/4 tea spoons of curry leaves and some amount of asafoetida (Perungayam) and mix it properly. After the completion of 4 whistles, mix the above mentioned ingredients along with the quantity of rice and moong dal which is placed inside the cooker. Now, the Pongal is ready! The next step is to warm the Pongal under the room temperature. Add red chilli powder, little bit of salt, 1 finely chopped onion and required amount of rice flour till the moisture is absorbed. Mix it together with Pongal and make a ball sized dough and flatten it. Roast both the sides of it by applying some amount of oil in a medium flamed pan to ensure that it becomes crispy. The tasty and delicious Pongal Cutlet is ready to be served along with Tomato Sauce.
