Recipe Name: Mango, Tomato, Pudhina, Sweet - Sarsal

Ingredients:
For making sarsal : Boiled rice - 4 cups, Salt - needed, Ingredients for sweet sarsal: White ellu(sesame) - 1 cup, Jaggery. - 1 cup, Ingredients for tomato sarsal: Tomato - 3, Onion -1, Ginger, garlic paste - 1/4 t.spoon, Mustard -1/4 spoon, Urid dal - 1/2 spoon, Bengal gram - 1/2 spoon, Red chillies - 4, Turmeric powder - little, Garam masala - 1/4 to 1/2 t.spoon, Salt ,oil needed, Ingredients for mango sarsal: Raw Mango - 1, Mustard - 1/4 spoon, Urid dal - 1/2 spoon, Bengal gram - 1/2 spoon, Green chillies - 4, Asafoetida - pinch, Turmeric powder - little, Curry leaves, Salt ,oil needed, Ingredients for pudina sarsal: Pudina leaves - 1 cup, Dhania leaves - 1 cup, Jeera - 1 spoon, Green chillies - 4, Garlic - 1 clove, Salt ,oil needed
Procedure:
For making sarsal : First soak the boiled rice in warm water for 4 hours...then grind it nicely... adding salt. Now the batter for sarsal is ready... Pour this batter in idly plates and steam it for 15 minutes... Then add the cooked sarsal idlies in sarsal peeta....make sarsal....this is the basic sarsal sweet sarsal: Fry the white ellu(sesame)...in a dry kadai.... sprinkle drops of water ..so that the sesame gets roasted evenly...let it cool...then add jaggery & grind it in a mixie jar nicely... Mix this ellu (sesame)powder with the sarsal...now the sweet sarsal is ready...it should be mixed at the time of serving or otherwise it will melt...this sweet sarsal tastes gud๐Ÿ˜‹ Tomato Sarsal: Grind red chillies with little salt..finely...then add half Onion,one tomato to a nice paste.keep this aside. In a kadai add oil for seasoning... mustard,urid dal, Bengal gram,Ginger garlic paste,then add the half onion cut into small pieces,then add the remaining tomato... which is cut into small pieces...now add turmeric powder,garam masala... little salt...now add the ground mix & saute it, till it is cooked. Now add the plain sarsal ,mix it thoroughly. Now tomato sarsal is to serve..๐Ÿ˜‹ This is my own idea for a different flavor in our traditional sarsal...kids love this a lot๐Ÿ˜‹ Mango Sarsal: Grind the cut mango pieces,with green chillies, little Curry leaves, little salt.... coarsely...keep this ground mix aside. Take a kadai ..add 2 spoons of oil to season ....add mustard,urid dal,Bengal gram, asafoetida, turmeric powder,Curry leaves,in this order then finally add the ground mango mixtue & saute for few minutes...after the raw smell goes ..add the plain sarsal .Mix it thoroughly. Now mango sarsal is ready to serve๐Ÿ˜‹ This is my own idea for a different flavor in sarsal..our traditional sarsal in new Avatar...๐Ÿ˜Š Pudhina Sarsal: Wash the leaves, chillies & Grind all the ingredients to a nice paste.. season mustard in oil and add the ground paste ,saute it till it is cooked....then add the plain sarsal ..mix thoroughly. Now pudina sarsal is ready to serve๐Ÿ˜Š The aroma itself pulls us towards it๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Ingredients for Vathakulambu: First make Seasoning... in oil add mustard , fenugreek,urid Dall,channa dal, add manathakali vathal,onion s & garlic cut into pieces.fry it,add tamarind water,vathakolambu masala powder made by frying tuvar dal ,dhania,red chilli,Hing, fenugreek.let it boil..until Onion & garlic is cooked...add salt,add the plain sarsal , mix it thoroughly...now it is ready to serve.
