Ingredients:
Idly rice/Puzungal arisi - 2cups, Coconut - 1 small size, Toor dhal - 50gms, Green chilli - 3, Red chilli - 3, Tamarind - 1 small lemon size, Roasted split gram - 1 spoon, Jaggery - 1 small cup, Salt as required
Procedure:
Soak rice into the hot water for 5 to 6 hours. Grind rice and coconut.. make it half grinded.. Add some salt while grind the batter. Type 1(Sweet): take a pan and add small cup of jaggery and 1 cup of water.. if the jaggery and water get boiled then take one small cup of batter and put like small balls into the Jaggery mix.. grind coconut, roasted split gram and cardamom (for flavour only) smoothly. Add this to that Jaggery mix. Switch off the gas once boiled. Our sweet is ready.. Type 2 (karam): Take an idli plate and put the batter in the plate and boil for 15 mins.. Then cut the idli into small pieces.. Pressure cook toor dhal and Mash it well.. Take one pan and pour some oil.. Add seasonings, green chilli and red chilli, mashed toor dhal, tamarind juice and salt as required.. once the mix get boiled then add the small pieces of idli and mix it well. Serve hot.. Our Yummy thengai Pidichal is ready..
