As this dish goes with healthy taste nutty snack as it is recommended to have at evening as well as dinner times.
Let's check out the ingredients & procedure..
Firstly we need to make PAPPU CHEKKALU (RICE CRACKERS) Ingredients1 cup rice flour1 cup water1 tsp red chilli powder¼ tsp asafetidaSalt to taste2 tsp sesame seeds1 Tbsp. roasted peanuts1 spring curry leaves finely choppedOil for deep frying
TO MAKE A FINAL PAPPU CHEKKALU MIXTURE WE NEED TO Make RAW YELLOW PEAS MASALA.
Ingredients 1 cup dry whole yellow peas1 large onion1 small potato - optional2 ripe tomatoes-pureed3 hot serrano peppers minced½ tbsp grated ginger½ tbsp grated garlic½ tsp each chilli pwd and coriander pwd½ tsp turmeric pwd½ tsp fennel seeds3-4 tbsp oil¼ cup chopped cilantro5 cloves1 cinnamon stickFew curry leavesGaram masala as per tasteSalt as per taste Atlast add some raw onions and grated carrot and squeeze a lemon on top
Procedure:
Instructions1.Take a bowl, add rice flour, salt, red chilli powder. Mix them well.2.Blend roasted peanuts coarsely and add to the mixture.3.Add chopped curry leaves, asafetida, sesame seeds and mix well.4.Boil the water and add to the dry mixture little by little mixing with a spoon to make dough.5.Heat a heavy bottomed vessel with enough oil for deep frying.6.Take a small lemon sized ball of the dough, place on an oiled plastic sheet.7.Shape into a small circle by pressing with fingers.8.Once the oil is hot, slowly remove the shaped crackers and slide into the oil.9.In one go, you can fry 5-6 rice crackers.10.Reduce the flame to medium and deep fry them to golden color.11.Remove and place on an absorbent paper and cool.12.Repeat the process till the rest of the dough is done.13.Cool completely before storing in an air tight container.
And now let's make the Channa Masala

Instructions
Soak the dry peas overnight,drain and pressure cook them with 3 cups water. In a separate pan heat oil then add fennel seeds,cloves,cinnamon,curry leaves. Then add the pepper,ginger,garlic,onions,salt and stir cook till the onions turn golden and the raw smell disappears. Add the cooked peas,tomato puree and the dry powders and cook for few mins. Add chopped cilantro and water as needed and stir cook till the curry blends together. And now add the PAPPU chekkalu to this mixture soak them for 2 minutes. And break the PAPPU chekkalu if needed
Now transfer them to a bowl and serve them will raw onions & grated carrot and squeeze some lemon on top ..
