The leadership journey of Vn. Progressive KCGF Silver * BV Shekar has begun when he took charge as the student Chairman during his graduation stint from PSGCAS, Coimbatore. As the chairman, his innovative initiative – Commerce Week has drawn a huge attention from various colleges all over the state.
While embarking on his entrepreneurial journey as a Jeweller, BV Shekar has been recognized and appointed as the Director of prestigious Coimbatore Jewellery Association (the voice of Indian jewellery sector) in 1985. Besides, he has also held the chair of Aryavysya Samajam and worked for the empowerment of the community.
He believes that education is the way to bring a change in the social system of our community and as a joint chairman of Vasavi Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School, BV Shekar along with his team has achieved the school’s excellence on both scholastic and non-scholastic fronts.
His services to the society are invariably accolated by various sections, thus in the last three decades, he is ushering Rotary and Jaycee clubs in various distinguished positions at various capacities. In 2003, BV Shekar joined Vasavi Clubs and participated in various activities and in 2009 he laid the foundation of a new Vasavi Clubs International district – Vasavi Vidyalaya School, Coimbatore V501A and took charge as the Charter Governor of the newly formed district. Under his leadership, Vasavi Clubs has seen an exponential growth in the region, which could be evident from the fact that the region got segregated into 2 more new districts and 200 + Vasavi clubs have got formed under these districts.
Vn. BV Shekar, fondly called as Bheeshmacharya of Vasavi Clubs, not only serving the society at large but also creating numerous next gen leaders for the betterment of the society.
